In recent years, JiĄŻnan centers on the development philosophy of Ą°taking on capital city advantages, developing capital economyĄ±, thus the economic and social development goes rapidly and healthily. JiĄŻnan has gradually developed into a trans-province central city in Bohai - rim economic region, a region's leading role in the Middle and Lower Reaches of the Yellow River, and the central city between the two hub Metropolitan Areas of Beijing and Tianjin and Shanghai and Ningbo. It has gained prominent foundation and advantages in the information market, space location, talent and technology, industrial infrastructure, industry vehicles, and ecology and humanities. It has the basic conditions for building China International IT Innovation Cluster (CIIIC), and for creating a world-class IT industry cluster.
It is reported that in 2005, JiĄŻnan's information industry has achieved an operating income of 33.288 billion Yuan, with added value of 12.106 billion Yuan, accounting for 6.4% of its GDP. Electronic information equipment manufacturing industry has formed 4 major industry chains about computer and communication equipment, household information appliances, semiconductor components, and automotive electronics. Inspur server has successively topped all Chinese trademarks in the past 10 years. High-tech and high value-added, high-quality products such as Panasonic color TV, Joyoung small electrical appliances, integrated power control equipment and Jingheng semiconductor lock-out devices enjoy certain competitive advantages in domestic and overseas markets. Sales income of software industry reaches 9.525 billion Yuan, accounting for one-third of the province. There are a total of 495 software enterprises, which have gradually formed product a line of five major categories covering middleware software, industry application software, information security software, embedded software, and software outsourcing exports.
